Coral Sea Bowl                        Fee: $40.00 includes glass and firings

This coral sea bowl is made with a square foot of glass.  Glass priced $12.00 or less will be included in the price.  There will be two firings.  All are included in the class fee!

No experiece is necessary...just a desire for a fun evening.  Sheryl says this bowl draws people into her booth at craft fairs.  Come and learn how to make this unique and beautiful bowl.


Learn to Cut PLUS- Fee $55.00 everything provided


This is a must have class for beginner stained glass, mosaics, and hot glass.  This class is offered once a month for 1 1/2 hour to Learn to Cut, PLUS 1 1/2 hour to create. You will learn the basics of cutting straight lines, inside and outside curves,and circles.  You will also have the opportunity to try all the different types of glass cutting tools and grinders.  This is a great refresher for those who have not cut glass in some time.  After the cutting session ends the students will move into the glass medium they want to learn first.  Stained Glass students will create a butterfly sun catcher learning the basics of making a pattern, cut the butterfly from glass, foil and soldering.  The Fused Glass students will also learn how to create their glass pattern, cut their butterfly from fusible glass and create a tile which can be inserted into a napkin holder or create a sun catcher.  For Mosaic students using special shears will create their pattern, cut the glass, create a tile in the 'direct method' of mosaic.  This tile will fit into the napkin holder/mail holder.  After these min classes the students can sign up for either Tiffany Foil, Beginner Lead, Introduction to Glass Fusing or Mosaic to continue their journey in glass art. 


Introduction to Fused Glass Workshop

This workshop is completed in four sessions and is an introduction to fusing to include learn about care and operation of kilns, co-efficiency of glass, the difference between a tack, contour, full fuse, drape or slump and much much more. During the first session you will program the kiln to achieve the desired effect on your project.  You will make ands fire a fun suncatcher to brighten your days using System 96 glasses. In the second session the fun begins as you create your own art glass with an introduction to stringers, noodles, and frit.  You will incorporate these items into a tile which will be fused for use as a clock. You will learn to drill a hole in the glass for the clock mechanism. During session number three you will manipulate glass by weaving two ways to create fun and functional glass projects in. In in this last session you will learn how to prepare, care, and create Ceramic, Kaiser Lee Board and Stainless Steel molds are the focus of this class.   The woven items from the previous class will be slumped and draped to complete the Introduction to Fusing.


Painting On for Spiral Wind Chime

Come to Fusing Group class to learn the first step in glass painting.  These pieces will be made to make into a spiral windchime on a copper base a couple of weeks later.  If you have natural hair bristles paint brushes, please bring them to the class.

 


Powder Wafers

Another Fusing Group class.  Learn to create powder wafers to make special glass for a project or for project.  Powdered Frit will create wonderful opaque designs. 


Scenes In Glass

Bring a favorite photograph or picture from a card or calendar to recreate the scene in glass. 

In this course you will use frit in all sizes, stringers, noodles, or stringers to add details in your piece.  It take multiple firings to complete the scenes.


Fused Glass Table Top - 36" Table

Need a patio or garden table?  Or a unique table for a breakfast nook, in this workshop you will first create your own design for the table.  The second session you will begin to make the glass tiles with your unique design.  After fusing the tiles, the third session will be to adhere and grout your table top.  Once you have it home, put the legs on the table and sit to enjoy your new table.

Fused Mosaic Lazy Susan or Fused Mosaics Table 

This is a new and fun way to incorporate the look of mosaic using glass and frit to mimic mosaic techniques into the popular fusing method.  The look is wonderful and the process is quicker than traditional mosaic. Learn to cut a must have class.

The 3 D's - Dimensional Dazzling Dichroic                   

It is Dazzling,  It is Dimensional, And of course it is Dichroic!  This exciting experience lets you create a multi dimensional dichroic base giving depth to the jewelry pieces that will be cut from your creation. You will be truly amazed at what you will learn and can do with this technique.  During this course you will be using the Taurus 3 Ring Saw and the disc grinder to coldworking your pieces. While taking this class you will have a special price available for purchasing these two pieces of equipment.

Fused Stringer Bowl/Plate                                                                 No Experience Necessary
This technique will give you a woven fabric look with a fringed edge made out of glass.  All supplies are included in the cost of this class.  The second class you will have a choice of using one of our slumping molds or custom creating a mold for an additional cost.

Texas Flag Windchime

Learn to create a windchime using the Texas flag as the base for this windchime.  The lone star will be added to complete the design.

This class does require some soldering to complete the holder for the flag.  Also decorating the holder are three butterflies and the Welcome Panel.

Retro Stacked Plate

It might be reminsencent of a different era.  Just look around and retro is back in style!

Create a plate using squares, triangles, rectangles or circles in your choice of colors.  This course also involves a coldworking session.  Advanced Course.

Wine Cheese Board

Recycling at its best!  Any type of bottle can be slumped to make a cheese board.   Another idea is to use a mold in which a bottle can be slumped into a form to create a dish for crackers or corn on the cob.  Great for the summer parties on the patio, gifts to take to the hostess and anyone on your holiday or birthday gift list.

For a new idea we are now using decals to embellish the bottles.  The clear or very pale colored bottles work best with the decals.

Fused Fan Lamps 
Prerequisite: Learn to Cut
A wonderful home decor item which will change with each season or month.  This class will include a book of fan lamps which will give you a pattern for every month. We will create four interchangeable lamps, on per week.  These make a great entry way or night light.  Learn to cut a must
have class.

Dichroic Jewelry Set

This set includes a pendant, earrings with a touch of wire wrapping.  A bracelet with a mix of diachronic squares and beads to be worn with joy! 

You can select the new pattern, laserer etched, or chrincle dichroic to make your pieces. Many designs and colors to select. 

This set will make a wonderful gift for a special someone!

Crystal Pyramid Paperweight

These paperweights make fabulous gifts to yourself or others.  Paperweights will be made in the first session.

Two additional sessions to coldworking your paperweight.  Using the Lap Wheel you will shape, bevel, and polish to complete. 

This class teaches coldworking from mold using the five disc works to a final polish.  This is considered an intermediate course.

The Many Forms of Pattern Bars

During the four sessions, there will be four different pattern bars styles discussed and created.  Some pattern bars create designs or patterns others combine colors and textures for unique use within a project for special effects.

Combing Glass

Oh, what fun!  If you are ready for a new experience and new look in your fused glass, then this is the session for you.  The first session will be to create two different shapes and styles of glass to comb. 

The second session will create a bowl, comb a section of the bowl.  

The third session will coldwork the bowl using hand pads and prepare the bowl to slump.

Cinderella may have had glass slippers, but you can make your own glass flip flops.
