Learn to Cut PLUS- Fee $55.00 everything provided
This is a must have class for beginner stained glass, mosaics, and hot glass. This class is offered once a month for 1 1/2 hour to Learn to Cut, PLUS 1 1/2 hour to create. You will learn the basics of cutting straight lines, inside and outside curves,and circles. You will also have the opportunity to try all the different types of glass cutting tools and grinders. This is a great refresher for those who have not cut glass in some time. After the cutting session ends the students will move into the glass medium they want to learn first. Stained Glass students will create a butterfly sun catcher learning the basics of making a pattern, cut the butterfly from glass, foil and soldering. The Fused Glass students will also learn how to create their glass pattern, cut their butterfly from fusible glass and create a tile which can be inserted into a napkin holder or create a sun catcher. For Mosaic students using special shears will create their pattern, cut the glass, create a tile in the 'direct method' of mosaic. This tile will fit into the napkin holder/mail holder. After these min classes the students can sign up for either Tiffany Foil, Beginner Lead, Introduction to Glass Fusing or Mosaic to continue their journey in glass art.

Mosaics Table Top or Turntable
Prerequisite: Learn to Cut Mosaics have been very popular and are a wonderful way to use up your scrap glass from other projects. Once you learn to mosaic, you will be mosaic anything that does not move!
Our 19" table is a furniture quality table with metal wrought iron base that is a wonderful addition to any patio or breakfast nook. This technique can also be completed on a Lazy Susan Base.

Globe 3-D Lamp
Prerequisite: Learn to Cut and Flat Surface Mosaic
Mosaic a globe to light the way into an entryway. 3-Dimensional Mosaic is an intermediate class. Introduction and use of the Morton Portable Glass Shop is an integral part of this class. This example features a stylized forget-me-not flower which is the symbol of the Alzheimer Association. Each attendee can create their own pattern. Fee does include the globe lamp.

Liquifusion
Liquifusion gives a finished look to any mosaic project, and is an excellent way to finish of the lazy susan or table top. The finish leaves a glossing, smooth surface that is easy to wipe clean. It takes your mosaic pieces to the next level.

Crash Glass Mosaic
What a fun course to take and it takes just one session!
Combine pictures, poems, quotes and such with a little sparkle to have a fabulous framed piece or a work of art fit for an easel display!
Also offered as a Mini Pewter Crash Glass - this class is on the schedule in July.

Stepping Stones
Learn to cut class a must.
The stepping stone is an exciting project that you will surely want to do. It can be done with all nipped glass pieces, found objects, stained glass cut pieces or a combination.

Renaissance Mosaic Light Switch Plate
For unique home decor for you or gifts, learn this new groutless mosaic! In just a few hours you will learn to create these light switches using head glass, mosaic glass, glitter glass tiles, beads, and jewelry findings! It will be fun and exciting, no two come out alike due to patterns created and the glass used.

Renaissance Mosaic Mirrors or Frames
Try this new and easy mosaic! This is a one session course that introduces a 'no grout' system!
Use jewelry parts, dichroic glass, new glitter glass, stained glass, millefiore sections and more to make unique designs. We have many samples on display in the shop from light switch covers and mirrors, but this technique can be completed on many surfaces.

3 - D Mosaic Table Vase and Votive Holders
After working on flat surfaces, now it is the time to move to round and angular surfaces to mosaic. This is a great introduction to working on dimensional objects.
During this course, you will complete a large vase, and 2 small vases or votive cups to add fun to your dining or coffee table.

Mosaic Birdbath
This birdbath will have birds flocking to take part! Within two sessions you will turn a boring birdbath into a piece of garden art!
You will design your own birdbath. Bring your own birdbath bowl (only - no base) to the class. During the first session you will learn how to take the design chosen and apply a pattern and apply the glass. Next session will enable you to complete the inside and outside of the birdbath bowl. We space these sessions to allow time for all the glass work to be completed.

Team Spirit Mosaic
Show your team spirit for any football team --- Cowboys, Bills, Texans, or perhaps the Packers to create a 12 X 12 tile or plaque. Maybe you have a Spurs or Stars fan and want to create your mosaic plaque with them in mind and heart! Come in for a fun project - also a great gift for a fan for the holidays, too! Meets two Friday evenings in October. Yeah team!! |
