Frustrated - No problem, we will let you smash glass.   Don’t like puzzles – No problem, we will show you how to easily put the smashed glass back together.  The hardest part, picking your color and selecting your bowl mold.  Class fee includes use of our tools, firing, thin fire and the use of our mold.

Prior to the first class you need to select your pattern and glass.

All About Fusing Boot Camp, Saturday, June 30, | 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
This comprehensive course is perfect for you if you have tried fusing and want to go further with your knowledge, want to buy a kiln, or have a kiln but are concerned about using it.  We will discuss different types of kilns and what is right for your specific needs, kiln safety, proper preparation of kilns and shelf, Co-efficiency of glass, levels of fusing results, types of molds and mold preparation, types of shelf paper and their uses, use of kiln logs, how to work with different types of glass, and much more.  Your knowledge will be enhanced with the different projects you make.

Mosaic Decorative Stones: FULL | 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Create a beautiful decorative stone you will be proud to display on your front porch, back patio, upright in a flower bed, against a tree, or anywhere else you choose. Using an embedded direct method for mosaic, you will complete an 8” stone.  You may choose two patterns, one of which you will complete in class and the second one may be completed on your on to reinforce what you have learned.
This is a two - day class, there will be an option to return for a third day to do additional embellishments for the cost of supplies, about $5.00.

Prerequisite: None for most provided patterns, cutting skills necessary for some provided patterns.

Supplies fee: 8” mold to keep $10.00, a 10lb box of cement $15.00, which will be enough to make another stone, use of our scrap glass bin $5.00, and a wooden mosaic tool.

Glass nippers will be provided for in store use only.

Student need to bring:  A roll of paper towels and tweezers

Intermediate Flat Foil Method, July 5, 12, 19, and | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
This class is the next step to improving your skills learned in the Beginner Tiffany Foil Method.  In this class, you will learn:
Working in the round, open backgrounds, or pieces that extend outside the edge.
Basic pattern modification if needed
Additional cutting methods-to include saw cuts
Incorporating bevels into a piece
Foiling and working with thick, rippled or heavy textured glass
Additional soldering techniques to include limited reinforcement techniques as needed
Wiring around edges and came bending
Use of foil overlays and filigrees

We recommend that you work on a piece that is larger than you have done before and that presents some of the challenges listed above that you have not yet experienced.
 
Prerequisite: Tiffany Foil Method

The copper garden stake will look great year-round as it ages beautifully outdoors in your flower garden adding an extra depth to the fused piece you create.  The stand also allows you to change the glass plate seasonally and has space to attach a wind chime if you choose.  This is meant to be fun and creative so work on some ideas for your design before you get here or just come ready to have fun!  

Includes glass for one plate, kiln firing, and thin fire paper.

Bring your own beads to embellish and wire to attache the windchime‚Äč

Supply Fee: Current market price for the copper stand, and glass for a wind chime if you choose to add one.

Using a variety of colors and shapes of glass, dots, vitriograph, and frit each student will create their own unique art strip. This finished piece will be 10” x 2” and will look great in any window in the home.

Wine Bottle Wind Chime: Tuesday, July 24, 31, 6 pm | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

This is the best way to enjoy a bottle of wine twice!  With this wind chime you will learn the tricks of cutting a bottle into rings and breaking them apart. Bring two empty bottles, cleaned of any glue or labels, to class and we will show you how to cut and break the rings apart.  The rings will be left with us to flatten in the kiln.  

We will talk about how we will hang the rings and what will best be suited to hang the rings from.  When you return for the second class you will complete a beautiful unique wind chime. When you hear the sparkling sound, it will remind you of the fun you had creating this chime.

For the second class, students will bring a devise to hang the rings on, 30Lb leader Line, crimps, and beads for embellishments.

Prerequisite: No experience necessary.

Get The Lead Out Boot Camp (Intermediate): August | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Traditional Lead construction is the method of the masters.  Lead method is wonderful in larger windows, sidelights, and doors and is a great technique for geometric designs and straight lines.  During this boot camp, you will construct an elegant window while learning the complete process of working with lead channel (came).  We will discuss the different types of lead came and in the end, you will “play in the mud” during the glazing process.  Students need to have all glass cut, ground, and ready to assemble prior to class.

Bring a lunch or we we will order from a close by restaurant.  

Prerequisite:  Tiffany Foil Method.  Some supplies needed.
