Bevels for the bottom of the heart

3-D Movable Winged Projects, (Intermediate): Wedne | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
3 Dimensional pieces can be a lot of fun to create and easy to do when you know the techniques. They always become a point of conversation as those who see them will want to know how you made such a wonderful piece.  Projects that can be included in this class are the flying dragon, cardinal, butterfly, hummingbird, and parrot.  Yes, the wings actually move as if they are flying through the air!

Prerequisite:  Tiffany Foil Method

Pattern and glass should be selected before the first class.

NISD Water Color Bowl with Organic Design, Saturda | 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM
There are never any two alike when you create this unique organic shaped bowl.  Choose your colors and how you will arrange them on your shelf.  After firing we will tweak the glass to fit the mold you select.  You will find this class to be very relaxing and the outcome will give you a big smile. 

Class includes colored glass
Student will need to purchase 1 square foot clear compatable glass

Prerequisite:  Glass cutting skills helpful but not necessary.

Pendant Lights Up or Down | 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Pendant lights can be a focal in any room if the glass globe is unique. We will teach you how easy it is to make your own pendant light globes.  This same technique makes excellent up lights as well.  You will have your choice to make either a pendant light to hang or an up light to display on a lamp base. Glass is extra, pendant light mechanics and lamp bases are not included.

Prerequisite:  Cutting Skills Helpful

Friday, February 1
Nature and Glass, Friday, February 1 9:00 am -5:00 | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
This one-day class is fun, intense, and full of tips, tricks, and techniques.  You will create your own pattern, select your glass, and then start building as we explore the structural integrity aspects that ensure a successful project.

Prerequisite:  Tiffany Foil Method

Students need to bring their cutting and soldering equipment, and foil.  If you have sliced agates, or anything else you might want to include into your piece, bring it and we will see if it works.

Get The Lead Out Boot Camp (Intermediate): Februa | 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Traditional Lead construction is the method of the masters.  Lead method is wonderful in larger windows, sidelights, and doors and is a great technique for geometric designs and straight lines.  During this boot camp, you will construct an elegant window while learning the complete process of working with lead channel (came).  We will discuss the different types of lead came and in the end, you will “play in the mud” during the glazing process.  Students need to have all glass cut, ground, and ready to assemble prior to class.

Bring a lunch or we we will order from a close by restaurant.  

Prerequisite:  Tiffany Foil Method.  Some supplies needed.

Beginner Tiffany Foil Method, Weekdays March 12, 1 | 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Register thru Northside School District Continuing Education

Learn the Tiffany Foil method of creating stained glass while making your own beautiful glass window. During this comprehensive 2 day class period you will learn the ins and outs of the copper foil method starting with how to cut glass and continuing with pattern preparation and soldering, to completion of your first beautiful stained glass "masterpiece". This class is also a perfect refresher course.

You must come in before the first class date to select your pattern and glass.

Some supplies needed, about $75.00 not including your glass.

There is a $35.00 fee for the use of the chemicals and the cutting and soldering equipment.

All About Fusing; Saturday, March 23, 9:00 - 2:00 | 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
This comprehensive course is perfect for you if you have tried fusing and want to go further with your knowledge, want to buy a kiln, or have a kiln but are concerned about using it.  We will discuss different types of kilns and what is right for your specific needs, kiln safety, proper preparation of kilns and shelf, Co-efficiency of glass, levels of fusing results, types of molds and mold preparation, types of shelf paper and their uses, use of kiln logs, how to work with different types of glass, and much more.  Your knowledge will be enhanced with the different projects you make.
